Hoop Convergence 2010

I’m such a lucky girl! I was able to go to Hoop Convergence this year. I’ve been eyeing the site and longing to go for months and sitting patiently on the wait list. Then boom — like magic the universe opened up and I was able to go. So many amazing performers and teachers shared their many talents. I can’t wait to share too….

Hoop Convergence is a Hoop Dancer’s Conference held outside the beautiful Hooper Haven of Carrboro, North Carolina, an area rich with devout hoopers, grassroots communities and biodiversity. Hoop Convergence brings together the skills of talented teachers and performers from around the continent.

Hoop Convergence honors the many paths of hoop dancers. Whether hooping is a personal spiritual practice, re-creation, livelihood (through teaching or performance), a vehicle for social outreach and community building or ALL of these things, this gathering inspires and enriches the journey.
